Happy the one who, having learned to triumph over all passions, puts his energy in the accomplishment of tasks imposed by life without worrying about results. The purpose of your effort should be the action and not the result of that action. Do not be of those who to act need this stimulant: the hope of a reward.
Do not let your days pass by in affluence. Be laborious, accomplish your duties without worrying about their consequences, of good or bad results; this indifference will bring your attention towards spiritual considerations.
Search a refuge only in the wisdom, because to attach yourself to the results of your efforts is the cause of discontent and misery. The real sage does not occupy himself with questions what is good or bad in this world. Reason always in this sense: this is the secret of life.
